Japan 2003 Day 14: M is the letter of the day

I was really excited to visited Akihabara town.  I was pretty pumped on the train ride there.  I rushed up the escalator and through the first open doors outside the train station.

Just a quick aside, many stores have their doors wide open, even during cold periods.  Not sure why when they pay exorbitant utility costs.  Also, in Tokyo, being as dense as it is, most of their buildings are tall and the store signs are located higher up.

So the first thing I see when I go into the store, is racks of nudie magazines.  I am stunned for a moment.  I turn my head and see racks of pornographic movies.  I turn to the cashier desk and see more adult gear.  I slowly back out of the store and look up.  I have ventured into M’s Adult shop.  They have a sandwich board sign advertising something in Japanese, but it is very obvious for adults.

I go back in of course and have a closer look around.  I remember seeing two old grandmas joking with each other while one held a dildo.  I saw businessmen browsing the magazines and there was a young couple deciding on which movie they were going to watch, the girl giggling the entire time.

There were a few floors to the store, that including cosplay clothing and other paraphernalia.  I went back down and got ready to leave.  Then I saw it.  The legends were true – there was a hanging rack of used schoolgirl panties.  It took a moment for my mind to reboot before it was blown away when I saw Hello Kitty “shoulder massagers”.  It was clear what I had to do.  I bought two of them to bring home to Canada.  Man, can those things vibrate.
